This weekend will see that start of a three-round home stint for the Blacks and coach Craig Morriss knows the importance of the next month.
"It should be really good for us and hopefully were are able to pick up a few wins in front of the home crowd," he said.
"We had a couple of draws and close losses at home which cost us in the end last season. It really has to be a graveyard for other teams this season."
The Blacks will take on Wagga City after the Easter break while finishing their three-game home stint with a tough task as they take on Waratahs.
Despite the result in the first round seeing them lose to arch-rivals Leeton, Morriss said by all reports his troops have been really upbeat.
"Everyone was at training last night which is great," he said.
"They are fairly pleased with their performance from last weekend, so the hope is they are able to carry that momentum into this week."
Morriss knows the importance that this weekend posses and will be heading into the clash with an unchanged line up which will boost their chances.
"I think we should be able to name the same side as last weekend," he said.
"Don't think we had any injuries so to be able to keep the same side is a huge bonus."
Despite CSU falling to a 98-0 defeat, some late inclusions will look to turn that result around when they come to Griffith.
"I hear they have picked up three players from overseas during the week which will give them a boost," he said.
"We need to get the win this weekend because it will be important to get points on the board before the easter break.
"We need to bring a good attitude and the crowd to bring a great atmosphere which the players are going a great job of creating by themselves."
This weekend will not only be an important clash for the first-grade side, but it will also see the women's rugby side seeking redemption as they take on their grand final opponents from last season.
While the Blacks fell to an opening round defeat at the hands of the Phantoms, CSU was able to get their title defence off to a strong start as they picked up a 62-7 win over Wagga Ag College.
There will be plenty of action at Exies Oval on Saturday afternoon with the women's 10s action kicking the day off at 1.10pm followed by the second grade at 2pm.
First grade will wrap up the action with kick off set to occur at around 3.20pm.
