In a huge boost to the Jets' just days out from their round one clash, they have welcomed Matt Wallis and Melbourne-based man mountain Dave Hand.
Wallis has been one of the Farrer League's premier forwards for the past five years, booting 150 goals from 57 first grade games for Temora.
But Wallis has decided to cross to the Kangaroos' neighbours and rivals to play under new coach Mitch Haddrill, who was thrilled to get his man.
"He was our major target all off-season," Haddrill said.
"People were telling me early on that he was playing for the Jets but I would have liked that to be the case. He had a few things to sort out before he worried about footy and that happened last week and we got him over the line this week.
"It's massive. He's been the best forward in the league for a fair while now and to get him across is pretty big.
"It was a big decision for him and I'm very happy he finally said yes."
In a big week for the Jets, they have also signed Hand, who stands at 200 centimetres and weighs 115 kilograms.
He won Warrandyte's best and fairest in 2013 and played in their 2015 premiership. He was also named ruckman in the Team of the Year from 2013-15.
The 31-year-old spent last season playing in Bali and will travel from Melbourne to play with the Jets.
Hand, who will miss round one, has spent the last couple of years as a forward and will line up alongside Wallis in attack.
"We got two in the space of two days. It's very exciting," Haddrill said.
"I was a bit nervous going into the season. We've got a good core but we were lacking a bit of firepower up forward."
Northern Jets president Andrew Clark is looking forward to seeing what Hand has to offer.
"We're extremely pleased to pick up someone with that experience," Clark said.
"It's an unknown quantity getting someone out of Melbourne but we decided to step forward and make it happen."
The Jets have appointed Geoff Walker as under 17 coach and their second grade numbers are growing. Clark said everything was starting to come together.
"It's definitely been a tough pre-season for the Jets but I feel we're headed in the right direction," he said.
The club has also signed Jets junior Jack Favell.
Wallis will come straight in for the Jets' round one encounter against The Rock-Yerong Creek at Victoria Park.
