The poppies will be attached to a fishing net and draped over the clock tower as part of our Anzac Day celebrations. Each poppy took around 30 minutes to complete so a lot of loving hours will go in the finished production. Wool was supplied by Narrandera Shire Council and the poppy patterns were donated by resident Margaret Hocking.
In addition, Nattering Nitters have contributed 45 blankets to aid disaster hit regions and third world countries. Bernie Hayllar of Hayllar's Transport delivered them to Sydney and Wraps with Love will distribute.
It does not stop there - they have already contributed 27 pairs of booties and 53 beanies to King George V Hospital.
THE Narrandera Domestic Violence Committee will be utilising the skate park to good advantage on Sunday from 9am to noon. A free breakfast, face painting and jumping castle are some of the attractions.
Rotary, Soroptimists and Coles are pitching in to ensure that the Linking Communities Network will be able to distribute information packs on mental health, legal aid, elder abuse, cyber bullying and depression.
CONGRATS to Narrandera's mature age student Louise Carroll who recently received the 2019 TAFE Excellence Award as a Technology and Business Services Student. Her outstanding success was acknowledged at the gala awards ceremony at Albury's Hovell Tree Inn.
