The Main Gallery is still having the finishing touches completed to the scheduled resurfacing of the floorboards in all of the gallery's exhibition spaces and exhibitions installed and will open Saturday, April 6.

The new suite of exhibitions commence with the Links Gallery exhibition On the Origins of Capital: James Farley, Jacob Raupach and Felix Wilson.

On the Origins of Capital is a new exhibition of works by James Farley, Jacob Raupach and Felix Wilson. Drawing on each artist's photographic background, On the Origins of Capital sets up a space for considering the material, economic and ecological entanglements of extractive and transformative industries.

What arises is a new way of imaging and imagining our connections to place, asking us to radically expand our notions of time, space, self and species.

THE gallery is hosting a raft of activities for FRESH, including a lecture series on Australian Art by Charles Sturt University academic, Dr Sam Bowker.

The first lecture, Great Southern Land, will be held on Thursday, April 4 at 5.30pm ($10 per ticket plus booking fee). The lecture commences with the story of first contact between Indigenous Australians and Europeans. This is a journey through breath-taking artworks that reveal personal narratives, conflict, ancient knowledge and scientific exploration. From these remarkable encounters we strike gold, some blokes go camping, and Australian art changes forever.

Join award winning Charles Sturt University wine maker, Campbell Meeks, as he guides you through a tasting focusing on regions, techniques and varieties. The CSU Pet Nat's, Boutique Wines and More will be held on Friday, April 5 from 5.30pm to 7.30pm in the E3 art space ($15 per ticket plus booking fee).

This event is also supported by FOG and all proceeds will contribute the Gallery's fund for artworks.

The gallery will also present the captivating documentary film Her Sound, Her Story, an intimate conversation unveiling the personal experiences, histories and significant social impacts of women in the Australian music industry.

The film will feature the likes of Tina Arena, Julia Stone, Zan Rowe, Banofee, Mama Kin, Jen Cloher, Mojo Julu and more. This is a free event, bookings are essential.
