The Daily Advertiser has teamed up with the Riverina Regional Library to bring you five new reading options each month.
From psychological thrillers to historical novels, librarians Amy Heap and Cynthia Price will recommend some of the best titles out there.
Ms Heap said she is a voracious reader who consumes more than 90 books a year.
Ms Price has been working for the RRL for more than 20 years and loves the escape a book provides from the world.
Those Girls by Chevy Stevens
This was a horrifying, emotional read. There is a lot of violence, including rape, to the story. Even with all the brutality I could not put the book down. I had to keep reading to find out how these sisters survive their experiences, their bond so strong.

The Beast's Heart by Leife Shallcross
A simple retelling of Beauty and the Beast. This is told from the Beast's point of view. We are taken on the journey of the Beast as he struggles with what it is to become human again. It is a tale of love and redemption.
Recommended by Cynthia Price.
The Skylarks' War by Hilary McKay
Clarry and her older brother Peter look forward to escaping their distant father and oppressive home in London for summers with their grandparents, and older cousin Rupert, in Cornwall.
This sweet, moving, rather dark tale follows them as they grow up, and World War One changes everything. Written for children, it can be equally enjoyed by adults. If you enjoyed The Camomile Lawn by Mary Wesley, you may enjoy this.
Recommended by Amy Heap.
Black Swan Green by David Mitchell
Black Swan Green is stories from one year in the life of a thirteen year old boy, in an English village during the early 80s.
It's about the common and peculiar trials of being a thirteen year old boy, friendship, family relationships, music, politics, poetry and truth, love and loyalty. It's funny, clever, moving, sad, joyful, and with the special delight for the regular reader of David Mitchell books, the characters from his other books.
He is one of my very favourite authors, and this is a lovely coming of age story.
