Signature Care CFO Stephen Pollock said they will develop their first centre in the Riverina and the facility will provide care for those living with dementia in Wagga.
"There will be 144 places that will be open to everybody, but there will be a specialist dementia section," he said.
"There was a combination of factors for choosing this plot including that it was centrally located, close to hospitals and services in town and most importantly, it' s above the flood levee.
"That was a major factor in our research."
Mr Pollock said the company's focus was on delivery of services to regional areas.
"When you run the aging demographics, it shows Wagga is in high need," he said.
"The design is being done as we have been working on it while going through the settlement process and it's lodged with council.
"We have to go through all the typical planning processes, but hopefully we can start construction within two months."

Mr Pollock said the company would work closely with St Mary MacKillop - which will stay - and the CSU faculties currently on the campus.
CSU executive director, Division of Facilities Management Stephen Butt said that the finalisation of the sale of South Campus came after two years.
"We're pleased to hand over South Campus to Signature Care knowing that the site will be used for the public good,' he said.
"We are committed to strong financial management and ensuring our campus locations deliver the best possible value for the University.
"It was time to move from South Campus to consolidate our location in Boorooma, and while we take many memories with us, we look forward to seeing its development as Signature Care's plans come together."
Mr Butt said the Riverina Conservatorium of Music will remain at South Campus until their planned relocation to Johnston Street.
"CSU Riverina Archives will continue to operate until moving to Boorooma over the next five years," he said.
