The witness appeared via video link at Wagga Local Court on Wednesday to give evidence during the pre-trial committal hearing for Samuel John Shephard, who is accused of Ms Boyd's murder.
Mr Shephard, 37, has pleaded not guilty to the charge of murder.
The court heard how the witness met with Mr Shephard, Ms Boyd and Anthony Shane Hagan near Mr Shephard's house on August 10, 2017 before Mr Shephard told her to follow them in a separate car.
After they arrived at a remote farming area, the court heard both the witness and Ms Boyd had a discussion before the witness went to get a cigarette for Ms Boyd.
"Then Sam and Allecha started talking before Sam got cranky at her," the witness said.
"Then I started to walk away and that's when I heard the bangs."
The witness, who broke down in tears numerous times, said she heard two gunshots.
"I turned around and yelled out to Sam and he turned and told me to get in the car," she said.
"I got in the car and took off."
Later that night, Mr Shephard allegedly returned to her place and demanded she give her phone to him.
"He told me not to mention it to anyone else," the witness said.
Following the disappearance of Ms Boyd, police intercepted phone exchanges between the pair.
In one exchange, the witness told Mr Shephard that she intended to turn him in for the alleged murder.
"Call me or you're going down for murder," she said.
Another read: "What are you going to do? Shoot me?"
In court, the witness said she agreed to the plan to meet Mr Shephard in Coolamon that day because she wanted to talk with Ms Boyd, whom she alleged broke into her home and assaulted her on August 5, 2017.
Earlier in the hearing, defence barrister Eric Wilson asked her about a firearm that Mr Shephard had shown her.
"He brought one to my house - not sure when, not sure what type," she said.
The witness was also questioned about why she lied to police in her first interview, her drug addiction and her help in giving police a walk through of events at the alleged shooting site.
Ms Boyd, 27, was last seen in Coolamon on August 10, 2017.
Police have conducted numerous searches but have not yet found her remains.
Mr Shephard did not appear in court after an application to excuse him was granted.
The hearing continues.
