However, residents wanting to see some action have been urged to attend a public meeting on Tuesday with the region's politicans to have their say on why it's crucial the system is improved.
The public meeting has been made possible thanks to the hard work of concerned residents Angela Uren, Robert Quodling and Jason Richardson, who are now calling themselves "Campaigners for Rural Equality".
"We think the name encompasses what we are trying to do with regards to allocation of finance, equipment, training and especially medical staff to the rural and regional sectors," Mr Quodling said.
"To date we have had numerous promises both written and verbal regarding extra funding and other initiatives from politicians and the Murrumbidgee Local Health District committee.
"We seem to be getting the message across, in collaboration with Leeton Shire Council.
"However, nothing yet is set in stone.
"As funding for doctors comes from a federal level we must impress upon (Member for Farrer) Sussan Ley the gravity of the current situation. Only then, perhaps real changes can be made to ensure more rural doctors are allocated and subsequently remain in rural areas."
The call is out to residents to attend the meeting on Tuesday, which will be held at the Yanco All-Servicemen's Club from 4pm to 5pm.
