Wagga trainers Trevor Sutherland, Chris Heywood, Gary Colvin and Peter Morgan have all nominated horses for the feature race in Willy White Socks, Class Clown, Noble Descent and Zarlu.
Albury Racing Club received 24 nominations for the Cup, headlined by Japanese import Ambitious and group one performer So Si Bon.
Among the big stables to nominate for the carnival were Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, Team Hayes, Peter and Paul Snowden and Ciaron Maher and David Eustace.
Nominations for the $80,000 Albury Guineas (1400m) suffered after the withdrawal of the lucrative Inglis bonus with just 14 horses nominated.
Nominations for the eight-race Cup day showcase meeting were otherwise strong throughout.
The $50,000 City Handicap (1175m) headlines the opening day's racing on Thursday and it attracted 22 nominations, headlined by the likes of O' So Hazy, Bring A Secret and Stephan.
