A national review is underway to determine whether any stores could face closure amid the challenging retail climate.
News has circulated that a third of Big W stores across Australia could shut up shop.
However, a spokesperson from the Woolworths Group, owner of Big W, said no conclusions have been drawn.
"At our Half-Year Results in February we announced a national review of our Big W store and distribution centre network," the spokesperson said.
"The review is ongoing and no decisions about our network have been made.
"We will update our team members and the market once the review has been completed."
The spokesperson said the review is looking at stores nationally as a whole and not specific stores, like Wagga.
The Daily Advertiser contacted Macquarie Bank to speak with the analyst who claimed 60 stores could depart, however they did not respond to requests.
