With his girlfriend studying at CSU and his own study commitments in Victoria wrapped up, Barrow was snapped up by the Bushpigs in a significant boost to their list three weeks out from the start of the season.

The 177cm Barrow has spent the last two seasons playing a mix of seniors and reserves for Colac in the Geelong competition, including a reserve grade grand final appearance. At 23, he'll bring some experience to CSU.

"Its such a young group and from what I gather last year was a success in making finals for the first time in a few years but from what I gather, there's a feeling of a stone unturned and a bit of disappointment (in losing the final)," Barrow said.

"I'm looking forward to hopefully getting them a step further, whether that's winning more games or winning a final. I'm just really looking forward to a good year. Training's been good and some of the guys look slick."

Barrow has been doing pre-season at home before arriving in Wagga and will play in Saturday's trial against Narrandera. 

CSU are also keen to see new faces William Headlam, Walt Morton and Andrew Corrigan this season.

Their arrival at the start of the university year adds to strong numbers at pre-season and comes on the back of Lachy Moore and Ben Keith joining the Bushpigs from Collingullie-Glenfield Park.

CSU will also have a pre-season match against Turvey Park next week to finalise their preparations for round one at home to Temora on April 6.
