South Wagga Warriors’ champion, Montana Kearnes, has won the Umpires’ Best Player award in the Wagga Softball competition.

She was presented with her award after the counting of votes was done at the association’s presentation night on Thursday.
Kearnes polled 13 votes to win from Saints’ Rochelle Harley.
With just one round remaining, Kearnes and Harley were locked together on 10 votes, but a best on diamond in the last gave Kearnes the victory. The state representative also took out Outstanding Female Player.
Selectors announced James Scott as Outstanding Male Player. The Outstanding Male Youth award went to Saints’ Sean Watkins and the Outstanding Female Youth was shared by Layhnee Kearnes and Paris Hall.
Outstanding Junior Boy was Jayden McDonald whilst Charli Hall took out the Outstanding Junior Girls trophy. Outstanding Sub-juniors were Crawford Wadley and Alicia Donohue and Outstanding Players who attended Primary School in 2018 awards went to Austin Gooden and Alex Maiden.
The Women’s B Grade MVP award and the Amie St Clair Perpetual trophy were won by Alicia Donohue (Saints), whilst in C Grade it was Saints’ Kristen Seddon who won the MVP.
Logan Ingram, of Saints, won the Umpires’ best player award in the Male League.
Todd Maiden was the recipient of the Senior Umpires’ award and Reece Jamieson of the Junior Umpire award.
The Club Championship awards went to Saints in the Men, Turvey Park in the Women and Turvey Park in the Juniors. The Executive Shield was won by the Turvey Park Softball Club.
The prestigious Member of the Year was a dual award, to Turvey Park personalities Janine Piercy and Amanda Gooden.
Four All Star teams, the nine players deemed by the Association selectors to be the best in the competition, were presented with their All Star team Medallions.
