Shawnray Pafalani is another new face at the club after coming out with former Cootamundra halfback Dakota Ruta.
New Diesels coach Trent Schubach believes the unplanned arrival shows plenty of promise.
"He came over with Dakota," Schubach said.
"He's a mate of his and wanted to come over to have a trial with us.
"He's training with us now and looks really handy."
Pafalani is a halfback or hooker and it gives the Diesels even more riches in the playmaking roles following the return of Tristan Dickson this season.
They've now Dickson, Daniel Foley, Schubach, Hayden Diggins, Matt Hands, Ruta and Pafalani in line for positions in their spine.
Schubach is still trying to work out what will be the best balance.
"It's good to have even though we are probably lacking a few in other positions," he said.
"We have a lot of strike power in those positions."
Group Nine's new nines tournament will be Schubach's first hit out as the Diesels new leader.
However Junee are limping into their first pre-season hit out with a number of injury concerns and a lack of players at training due to work commitments.
"We've got a lot of people there who are injured and can't train," Schubach said.
"Come round two, three or four maybe then will be at full strength."
However he threw cold water on suggestions the club is struggling for numbers ahead of the season.
"There are people there but probably not enough for what we need compared to the people we have on the books," Schubach said.
"Junee has a lot of shift workers through the railway, the jail and stuff like that so it makes it hard."
They've been getting around 20 seniors for sessions.
Schubach is confident they will have enough but injuries could test their depth.
He is also in doubt with an abdominal issue but is looking forward to coaching the side for the first time.
"I'm excited for the season, we've been training pretty hard," he said.
He's touch and go as to if he will make an appearance but is looking to take a squad of around 16 for the event at Cootamundra on Saturday.
The Diesels play Brothers, Cootamundra and Tumut.
