Review leader, David Burgess, has thanked clubs for their input during six club forums in recent weeks, which examined the state of play and discussed everything from competition structures to women's football and club sustainability.
“The passion for football in this region is outstanding, and the club forums provided a timely opportunity for AFL Riverina and AFL NSW/ACT to listen to club stakeholders and understand their views across a variety of key topics," Burgess said.
“The next step in the process is to digest the key findings and turn them into strategic recommendations in the best interests of football in the region."
Proposed recommendations are expected by June. Burgess said he will work closely with AFL Riverina and AFL NSW/ACT to ensure the review remains on course.
The club forums were one of the major steps in the process, providing a chance to follow up the survey sent to football and netball club participants late last year, and examine some of the issues facing the game.
