Pitting rival students and schools against each other, the combined carnival was dominated by Mater Dei, who took out overall honours, aggregate honours, the diving title and the champion girls trophy.
The Riverina Anglican College prevented a clean sweep by claiming the boys champion swim team title.
In an astounding effort, MDCC's under 13 girls smashed the 200m freestyle relay record by 10 seconds.
Chloe Donelan, Georgie Donelan, Natalia Hosley and Emma Devries stopped the clock at 2.07.01 - a time which would've broken the relay record in every girls age group.
In fact, the winning teams set new records in each of the girls 200m freestyle relays. But the youngest, the MDCC under 13s, were the quickest of all.
Mooney's efforts were equally mesmerising. He set three of the five individual records broken on the night including wiping off a time that had stood since 1975.
His time for the 15-years boys 50m backstroke (31.12 seconds) was the quickest in that age group in 44 years, since Wagga High's P Billingham finished swam a 32.80s for the event.
Mooney also set new records in his 50m freestyle (26.19s) and 100m freestyle (57.84s) events as he cruised to an age championship victory.
His fellow MDCC student, Annabella Storer, also tore the opposition apart in the 15-years girls division and set a record in the girls open age 100m butterfly. It's the fourth year in a row Storer has lowered marks at the carnival. She now holds eight Combined Wagga High records.
Storer and Mooney both won every event they contested.
Kildare's Millie McKenzie was the other individual record breaker, in the 12-years girls 50m breaststroke.
