1. Paddy's River Falls
Paddy's River Falls Rd, Tumbarumba
A hidden gem, Paddy's River Falls is the perfect spot for a dip in icy fresh water after a short bushwalk to the main waterfall. At 18 metres high, stand behind the water and watch it flow in front of your eyes as you get sprayed by the fall's mist. Go on to do an optional 2.5km walk, or even camp in the area and take in the natural beauty only an hour and a half outside of Wagga.
2. Gelatissimo

While there's no bad time for ice cream, summer will always be the prime opportunity to enjoy the sweet, cool flavours of gelato. Choose from almost 50 flavours or try a spoon of each at Gelatissimo, offering shakes, cakes and even gelato served in a doughnut.
3. Adelong Falls
Adelong Falls Rd, Adelong
A town rich in history dating back to the gold-mining era, Adelong boasts an expansive creek system with waterfalls to match. With recently updated paths and viewing platforms, take a bushwalk through the rocky land and find yourself at the Historic Ruins to learn about the Gold Rush - there's still gold being found in the creeks too, so try your hand at panning for treasure. Take a picnic and even take a swim in some of the deeper pools, and enjoy the open air.
4. Rustique Lavender Farm
7979 Tumbarumba Rd, Wagga
There's something for everyone at the Rustique Lavender Farm. Stroll through fields of lavender and heritage roses, or enjoy a cuppa and bite to eat at the cafe. There's alpacas and other farm animals onsite, or if that's not your thing, lay down for a massage or browse the gift shop.
5. Wollundry Grove Olives tour
15 Mary Gilmore Rd, Brucedale
Take a tour of the olive groves at Wollundry Grove and meet the growers, wander through the plantations and immerse yourself in the history of the business. Learn how the olives are processed and made into oils, and enjoy samples of the products on offer.
6. Marrambidya Wetland
100 Narrung St, Wagga
For a natural escape just minutes from Wagga's CBD, the Marrambidya Wetland provides the perfect space for learning about the culture and traditions of the region. Walk through 20ha of lands along the Murrumbidgee River and find a Wiradjuri Healing Place with seating, natural flora and a hand-carved totem pole.
7. Erin Earth
1 Kildare St, Turvey Park
Learn the ropes of sustainable living at this complex, developed as the dream of the Presentation Sister's. Erin Earth has an expansive, water-wise garden full of native vegetation in Wiradjuri Country, and invites visitors to wander through the gardens or attend workshops throughout the year to live greener.
8. Livingstone National Park Multi-Use Track
Wrigleys Rd, Big Springs
Bike riders gear up; this 4.3km track takes you through Livingstone National Park with the option to hike or even horse ride if cycling isn't your thing. Enjoy views and smells of cyprus pines, rusty spider flowers and scribbly gums, and even take some binoculars to spot the birds that call the park home.
9. Oura Beach Reserve
Off Wagga St, Oura
This location is ideal for those who love camping, fishing and relaxing in nature. Take in the sights of the Murrumbidgee River, pack a picnic and enjoy the warmth of the summer sun on the Ageless Oura artwork timber seats framing the river bends.
10. Gumi Races
Wagga Beach
Although occurring just after summer's end, the annual Gumi races is an event for the whole family with sunshine and cool waters down the Murrumbidgee river on self-built 'Gumi' rafts. The seven kilometre float ends at Wagga Beach which transforms in to a hub of entertainment, food and drinks.
