But Ms Husar has released a statement saying "Senator Hinch has never acted inappropriately towards me" while he issued one saying "There is absolutely no truth to it. Not a skerrick".

"I shouldn't deign to even answer this, but - I have met Ms Husar two, maybe three times over the past two and a half years," Senator Hinch said.

"Always in the company of staff, to discuss domestic violence and the need for a Family Court Royal Commission."

The Labor MP has taken Federal Court defamation action against BuzzFeed Australia, its American parent company BuzzFeed Inc and journalist Alice Workman.

The western Sydney MP says she was defamed in an article, a tweet and Facebook post in August.

Ms Husar claims the publications convey a number of false and defamatory meanings about her including that she is a "slut who boasts about who she has had sex with, which includes other Members of Parliament and members of her staff".

BuzzFeed has said the publications did not suggest Ms Husar was a "slut", but if the judge finds they did, it wanted to rely on a defence of truth.

Justice Steven Rares on Friday struck out particulars relating to this defence, finding they weren't anywhere near capable of proving the truth of the "slut" imputations.

The remaining particulars of the defence, filed on February 18, and released by the court on Monday, included BuzzFeed stating that in May 2017 Ms Husar had a conversation with her electorate worker Robin Cook.

Ms Husar said "she had been sexually harassed by Senator Derryn Hinch in that he had come right up close to (her) and touched her all over her body," the document said.

Without Ms Cook's consent, Ms Husar "then touched Cook's body all over to demonstrate what Senator Hinch had done to allegedly sexually harass her.

"In the circumstances, (Ms Husar's) sexualised behaviour toward the staff was inappropriate."

In her statement to media, Ms Husar said: "It is regrettable that other parties have been dragged into this; while I cannot comment on the particulars, it is important for me to say that Senator Hinch has never acted inappropriately towards me".

Senator Hinch said the false claim was "like throwing a dart at a dart board and seeing whose face it hits. This is bizarre".

Other BuzzFeed particulars included a statement that around June 2016 to March 2017, Ms Husar placed calendars featuring photographs of topless male firefighters on the desks of her female staff members and one homosexual male staff member.

By doing this she "distributed material of a sexualised nature in the workplace", the defence said.
