The governing body will attend a Jets' meeting for more detail on their plight and to extend a hand. 

"AFL Riverina has advised that we're happy to come to the meeting and support the club in any way we can," operations manager Shane Buchanan said.

"There are concerns about the number of players they do have training and registered with the club.

"The meeting is to sit down and work through how to address that issue."

Buchanan said AFL Riverina has a track record of assisting clubs in tough times, including Coleambally and Turvey Park in recent years.

The Jets came within a point of making the grand final in 2016 but finished sixth the last two years and have been unable to replace a host of departures in the off-season. 

"We've got an idea that there's some positives - they've signed a star in Lenny Haddrill and their recruiting committee is still trying to secure a number of players late, in readiness for the 2019 season," Buchanan said. 

"I suppose it's like any number of country clubs facing the constant challenges around employment, education and even the local farmers and farms getting bigger - all of those society concerns."

AFL Riverina is also in the middle of an extensive review which is looking at the sustainability of football clubs throughout the region, the viability of competitions and the make-up of the two junior and senior leagues.
