Of all things, Eminem's Sydney concert has forced the Bulls to travel to West Wyalong with a number of unavailabilities.
Fresh from a commanding performance for Riverina against South Sydney, Nick Skinner will only be available for Friday night's clash with Tullibigeal-Lake Cargelligo United (TLU).
Jack Lyons, Josh Siegwalt, Cameron Copeland, Hayden Jeans and Luke McBeath (shoulder) will also be missing for the Bulls.
While still keen to win the Knockout, Southcity coach Kyle McCarthy is happy to give an opportunity to a number of the club's emerging players.
"We're a bit light on, Eminem has hit us pretty hard," McCarthy said.
"We'll be missing five or six but it's good but, it's a good opportunity to give the kids a go.
"Jordy Little, Brody Tracey, Maleke Morris and Tomasi Baravilala will all get a crack. A lot of those kids have experience in NRL systems over summer so we'll give them an opportunity to have a crack at it, which is good."
Jordan Little has been named at halfback for Southcity's opening clash against TLU and will partner up with Nathan Rose in the halves.
McCarthy is still quietly confident about the Bulls' weekend chances.
"We're definitely in it to win it," he said.
"There is still some quality there and some good young blokes mixed amongst older heads. We'll give it a good shake.
"Minimising errors will be the key. Pretty basic play, up tempo and try to blow them out of the park early."
The Bulls will take on TLU in the opening game of the Knockout on Friday at 7pm. The Sharks are now coached by former Southern Inland rugby representative Sterling Ross, and are likely to feature former Group Nine talent Jaden Kelly.
McCarthy does not know what to expect from their Group 20 opponents.
"I don't know too much about them," he said.
"It's a hard one with the West Wyalong Knockout because you can pick players that haven't signed with you for the season.
"We won't be taking them lightly that's for sure."
McCarthy is looking forward to seeing Skinner and Rose lead the way after big pre-seasons. McCarthy said both players impressed him in last Saturday's trial against the Rabbitohs.
While they will blood youth, Southcity will still boast plenty of quality with Usaia O'Sullivan, Jake Dooley, Tim Hurst, Mitch Curran and Tim Jones to join the likes of McCarthy and Rose.
