Conditions were perfect as Lake Albert students hit the water for the school's annual swimming carnival.
Lake Albert Public School principal Kay Thurston was extremely proud of her students' commitment to the cause.
"We had an awesome day," Thurston said.
"We had a great deal of participation from all students and heaps of parents there to help out and also support the kids on the day.
"The biggest thing was participation, whether it was having a go or cheering on the swimmers...it was exceptional."
Thurston said the highlight of the day was a particular year five student's efforts.
"He had only just started swimming and in the 11 years boys he went in every single event, even the medley where he struggled and was about half a lap behind. But everyone got behind him and cheered him on," she said.
Lake Albert will announce the results from the swimming carnival at a school assembly later in the week.
