Emergency services and the Roads and Maritime Services were called to the scene, opposite the Silvalite Fuel Shop, just after 1pm today.
Turvey Park Fire and Rescue NSW’s station commander Jason McDonnell said it was fortunate that no one was trapped.
“There was also a small spillage of fluids from the cars that the brigade cleaned up,” Mr McDonnell said.
“Safety precautions were also in place.”
One FRNSW crew and four members attended.
Wagga police also attended to control eastbound traffic.
Traffic was affected for about 30 minutes while the drivers were assessed by paramedics.
There were no reports of major injuries to emergency services personnel and other members of the public.
