Get creative with a wide variety of wool colours and blends in Wagga's weaving classes. Make everything from table runners to wall hangings or even a scarf with alpaca wool. Never used a loom weaver before? Don't worry, you will learn the ropes at this class and be creating masterpieces in no time. The weavers are always open to finish projects too if you take a little longer to get the hang of it.
2. Open Studio Gallery
Saturday February 16, Wagga Art Society Studio, Small Street
You may recognise this event from its previous name 'Art by the Levee', which has relocated to Wagga's Small Street. Watch on as artwork is produced in front of your eyes, and mingle with the artists to get to know their inspiration and motivation. If you find something you love, you can even purchase some of the artworks on display.
3. Improv Classes for adults
Monday February 18, Wagga Civic Theatre, Burns Way
Step out of your comfort zone and start your week with a bang by signing up to an eight week improvisation acting course, teaching you quick thinking and creativity. Meet like-minded people and ultimately build your confidence. The skills learnt can be applied beyond acting to everyday communication.
4. Hashtag Exhibition
Daily until March 31, Wagga
If you haven't already, get snapping for the last month of Summer and capture the natural beauty of all Wagga and the Riverina have to offer. Post your best pictures to Instagram using the hashtag #visitwagga and see if you can spot a reprint of your own photo displayed around the city at places like the Civic Centre, Visitor Information Centre and Wagga Airport, or simply observe and find inspiration in the great shots of fellow community members.
5. The National Contemporary Jewellery Award
Saturday 16 & Sunday 17 February, Wagga Art Gallery
Griffith's Regional Art Gallery flagship exhibition is making its way to Wagga for the 30th year of the biannual National Contemporary Jewellery Award, bringing works from leading contemporary object artists around Australia in this free exhibition.
