A firefighter on scene said it was a b-double cattle truck that rolled over with more than 40 head of stock.
“The vets are addressing animals as we go,” she said.
“The front trailer and the back trailer still have a full deck on them of cows, they are clearing the top decks now and get in the bottom deck.
“Farmers are lending a hand. There is a lot [of animals] that are already deceased and some will have to be put down.”

Horses are on the road to help round up the cattle.
Live Traffic NSW stated on social media “one lane is now closed in each direction of the Hume Highway due to this crash”.
“Take care as cattle may also be on the highway,” the tweet read.

Emergency services have rushed to the scene of a truck rollover on the Hume Highway, north of Tarcutta.
Live Traffic NSW stated drivers should take care when travelling in both directions along the Hume Highway due to a motor vehicle accident about four kilometres north of the Sturt Highway.
One southbound lane is closed and motorists are asked to allow extra travel time and exercise caution.
Transport Accident Report - Australia Wide’s Facebook page is reporting that one person is trapped.
Fire Rescue NSW, paramedics and police are currently on the scene. The incident occurred about 12pm.
There are reports of cattle on the road.
