A couple has been charged after their son was injured while they were allegedly physically fighting in the Riverina last week.

About 9pm on February 6, officers from Murrumbidgee Police District responded to reports of a physical fight on a residential street in Leeton.
On arrival, police spoke with a man in his 30s and a woman in her 20s, as well as a number of witnesses.
The man was then arrested and taken to Leeton Police Station.
Police also requested help from NSW Ambulance Service.
“Paramedics examined an eight-month-old boy, who was lethargic and non-responsive, before taking him to Griffith Base Hospital for further treatment,” police said in a statement.
“He is expected to make a full recovery.”

Detectives from the Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad attended the hospital and started an investigation.
As a result of inquiries, a 32-year-old man was charged with affray, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and take action that results in physical injury.
He was refused bail and appeared at Leeton Local Court on February 7 where he was granted strict conditional bail to re-appear at the same court on February 12.
Following further inquiries, detectives arrested a 24-year-old woman at Griffith Police Station.
“She was charged with affray, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and take action that results in physical injury,” police said.
The woman was refused bail and appeared at Griffith Local Court on February 8.
The Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad is comprised of detectives who are specially trained to investigate matters against children and adults, including sexual assault, serious physical abuse, and extreme cases of neglect.
