The university’s vice-chancellor Andrew Vann has addressed attendees in an email about an update regarding the brand refresh.
“We value the feedback received and are now taking the time and care to review the responses to present a recommendation to the University Council later this month,” Professor Vann said.
“It is important to note that no decision has yet been made in relation to the university name change or logo while this analysis is being completed.
“We will provide a further update on progress on Monday, February 18.”
Public consultation sessions were held at campuses across the state, including Albury-Wodonga, Bathurst, Dubbo, Port Maquarie, Wagga and online.
Feedback has been received from the community, staff, students and alumni in relation to the university strategy.
“We received more than 1500 responses, in addition to feedback received through social media channels and at consultation sessions,” Professor Vann said.
A key theme put forward in the Wagga consultation on January 30 was that the university has been facing an “identity crisis” over the past few years.
Other issues raised by alumni were the lack of university council members living in the regions and that students should become the voice and brand of the university.
