Miller scorched his rivals in the Ganmain Triathlon, finishing the open event in 59 minutes and 52 seconds to comfortably beat second-placed Jake Bergman (1:05:28) and Leeton’s Max Norman (1:06:07).
“It was a pretty good day out in the end,” Miller said.
“I’ve competed at Ganmain in the past but I usually do the longer distances now so you’ve still got to adjust for races like this and go at a higher intensity.
“But it was good conditions out there, nice and hot, and it was great to have a bit of a hit out – I’ve got the (70.3) Ironman in Geelong coming up in a few weeks and this is good preparation.”
Meanwhile, The Rock’s Briony Mazzocchi backed up her 2018 title as fastest female with another win.
The defending champion registered a time of one hour, ten minutes and ten seconds to see off Wagga compatriot Ash Thompson (1:14:04) and Tumut’s Sharon MacMasters (1:16:11).
Event organiser Kylie Hamblin said more than 80 entrants competed in the open race.
“We also had around 30 kids racing in the sub-junior division, 48 juniors and 23 competitors in the junior-enticer division and a few teams as well,” Hamblin said.
“This year was the first time that GGGM Junior Football Netball Club ran the show as well – I think it was a good inaugural year.”
