Tuffey said the competition for spots remained intense with the association keen to finish their representative campaign with victories over Yass, Leeton and Wagga.
“The guys still have the hunger,” Tuffey said.
“I spoke to Jack Craig at the weekend and our boys at Lavington are loving playing in it.
“Brendan Simmons and Greg Daniel are the same.
“Everyone is really keen to get through to the Wagga game because I think they feel they have some unfinished business.
“We can’t let our guard down though.”
While Yass will start rank outsiders, Tuffey said CAW wouldn’t be under-estimating the visitors with several of their players lining up in Canberra.
Yass were beaten by Wagga’s Stribley Shield side earlier this month and usually take a similar group into the O’Farrell Cup.
Former Wagga bowler Cameron Suidgeest, who is now at Wodonga, has come into the side for Tallangatta’s Sam Stephens.
