A former junior representative coach in both Queensland and NSW, Elphick was recruited over the off-season and has already began sowing seeds in the Wolves community.
Club president Maurie Hogan was full of praise for Elphick, branding him an “invaluable” asset for Tolland, particularly at a junior level.
“He’s been around a fair bit, done some work with Grafton United and junior rep sides in the past but now’s he been signed on officially and we’re really looking forwards to having him on board and seeing what he can do,” Hogan said.
“Scott’s got a strong background in junior development and he’s going to be invaluable, particularly for our younger players.
Hogan pitched Elphick’s inclusion as that of a “coaches coach” and a mentor for the club in its entirety.
I think the key word here is development and that’s going to be his major focus.

“He’s exactly that – a coach for the coaches – but he won’t be taking over or telling our guys what to do.”
“He’ll just be there to help out in any capacity and assist in overseeing all our players and coaches.
“I think the key word here is development and that’s going to be his major focus, whether that’s helping out the juniors or running specialised or one-on-one sessions with our senior players.
“It’s a mammoth task and, at the end of the day, we want to be seeing improvements across all ages and grades.”
Elphick will also take on the third grade men’s squad alongside his coaching director duties.
“He’s already met with a few other coaches here and we think he’s really going to fit the bill with our club,” Hogan said.
