For most business owners tackling mountains of paperwork to get finances in order can be a daunting task let alone making a five or 10 year plan.
Navigate Advisors principal and senior financial advisor Gavin Lamb said many of his clients struggle to understand the mine field of the planning and financial side of their business.
“It’s lonely in business at times and Navigate can help to remove the feeling of being stuck on the treadmill,” he said.
“Don’t feel as though you are alone as reaching out to the team around you provides clarity and confidence often lacking in long-term outcome planning.”
It’s providing this clarity to business which Mr Lamb and the team of 21 staff (accounting, advice, finance broking and bookkeeping divisions) at Navigate Advisors pride themselves on.
For Mr Lamb, it’s the best part of his job.
“When you first meet a client with what seems to them a complex situation and you help make sense of it all,” he said.
“Those lightbulb moments are priceless and really are what sets an average and a quality experience apart.”
With more than 16 years experience in planning Mr Lamb saw the need for business to be able to access a range of financial planning and accounting services under one roof.
“Navigate exists as a professional services firm because we see value in being a one-stop shop for business,” he said.
“A firm that can deliver expert opinion across our various specialties adds greater value than one which has an uncoordinated view of the business world our clients are navigating.”
While Navigate Advisors has only been around since 2017 with its current name the experience and skills of the team have been forged over decades.
“Navigate isn’t a brand-new business – it’s been operating in one name or another for decades here in the Wagga area – it’s simply that Navigate came about as a name change designed to focus on our intent,” Mr Lamb said.
“To help get clients where they want to be they need help navigating life’s financial waters so to speak.”
Mr Lamb is one of four principals at Navigate Advisors alongside David Hodge, Michael Douglas and Matthew Karpanen who are accounting and business advisory specialists.
“There are plenty of bean counters – great with numbers, rubbish at dinner parties,” Mr Lamb said.
“And then there’s the cowboys – determined to beat the ‘boring’ stereotype and are power-tripping on other people’s money.
“Trust us – we are neither.
“At Navigate, we’re people just like you who just happen to have the skills to help navigate life’s financial decisions.”
