The multi-club premiership coach has adopted a low-to-no recruitment approach similar to that of South Wagga boss Ben Holt and believes his existing squad are talented enough to return to the top.
“We haven’t really considered bringing in new players at this stage and I don’t think it’s something we’ll look to do,” Menser said.
“We did pretty well last year (beaten semi finalists) and we had both our reserve sides in the second grade grand final, so we’ve got plenty of players to work with.”
Last year’s Gardiner Shield decider saw Henwood Park Hawks outwit Henwood Park Falcons 4-2 in an entertaining clash and the club’s first grade outfit will likely feature players from both sides this season.
“That’s our aim, really, to have those young guys from Falcons and others sticking around and playing first grade,” Menser said.
Henwood Park commenced pre-season training earlier this week with a healthy attendance, however, trial fixtures are yet to be confirmed.
