The cafe’s owner Denise Flack said the business has been on the market for eight months and the current conditions with the banks and Wagga’s competitive environment have made it hard to sell.
“Banks are making it very difficult for small businesses to borrow money so it’s a bit of a stumbling point for us at the moment,” she said.
“It’s a bit of a funny time selling because there are a lot of cafes on the market, but it’s hard to say whether it’s impacted us.”
Ms Flack purchased the business in 2008 and said she is ready to take a break from the hospitality industry.
“We’ve been here for 11 years, seven days a week and we’re tired and it’s time for us to find something a bit easier,” she said.
“It’s been very good to us and we’ve had a wonderful time operating the business, as we’ve met heaps of people.
“As soon as we sell, we’ll just wind down a little bit and have a break and I’ve had a bit of luck in song writing and I’m looking forward to spending more time with my youngest son who is turning 18.”
Ms Flack is hoping to sell the business to “dynamic, young people” who can bring new ideas and standout among the competition.
“When we bought this we were the only ones in this part of town and now there’s a bit of an overkill,” she said.
“I would love to sell it to dynamic, young people with new ideas and maybe to bring some sort of vegan menu or turn it into a keto cafe, which would go really well in Wagga as there’s nothing like that here.
“I’m too old to do that now, but I think it would be fantastic.”
