THE Malibu Water Ski Series, round seven, will take place in Narrandera on the weekend of February 2 and 3. Lake Talbot access to speed boats other than those competing in the ski tournament will be unavailable on February 1 to 3.
A new ramp, lawn under the shade of River Red Gum Trees, plenty of action on the waterfront as skiers show off their tricks, slalom and jumps for State and National Titles and the fact that it’s all free should be enough to get you there. You’ll also be able to purchase food at the venue.
If you want to make a real weekend of it, don’t forget that the Narrandera Farmers Markets are on Sunday, February 3 and that the Lake Talbot Swimming Complex will also be open throughout the weekend.

FORTY-degree-plus temperatures over the past couple of weeks have heightened our senses in regard to self-preservation in the heat, together with that of our animals – domestic and wild. At the behest of koala lovers, Narrandera’s community radio station SPIRIT FM 91.1 has been broadcasting the plight of our koalas to citizens who have been leaving ice cream containers of water at the bases of trees in the Common. Other have advised the station of the kangaroo hazards at dawn, as the roos come into local streets in search of a drink.
