Just after midnight on January 19, while on a property along the Cobb Highway, the 31-year-old sustained a wound to the head.
Initially conveyed to Deniliquin Hospital, she was later airlifted to Royal Melbourne Hospital in a critical condition.
Five witnesses on the Pretty Pine property aided police with their investigations.
She died on Tuesday from the injuries. A report is being detailed for the coroner.
Shortly after the incident, a 32-year-old man, believed to be the woman’s husband, was arrested by Murray River Police District officers.
He was taken to Deniliquin Police Station where he was initially charged with firing a firearm in a manner to likely injure persons or property, use of an unauthorised firearm, and use of a firearm under the influence of alcohol.
The charge was upgraded to manslaughter at Griffith Local Court on Wednesday, following the woman’s overnight death.
He was granted conditional bail to re-appear before the same court on March 20.
