The powerful Hayes-Dabernig stable made their presence felt at Murrumbidgee Turf Club on Tuesday.
The Hall of Fame trainer was represented by five horses at Wagga and finished with two winners and one placing on the eight-race card.
Mutadaawel ($1.90), a half brother to group one-placed sprinter Faatinah, took out the XXXX Gold Maiden Handicap (1000m) at his third race start.
“He’d had a couple of nice trials at home so we expected a forward showing,” stable representative Russell Treloar said.
“He has always shown us good ability and a nice gear change of getting gelded has helped. Hopefully it’s onwards and upwards from here.”
Whiskey Queen ($1.40) then dug deep to score narrowly in the Book Your Wedding At The MTC Maiden Plate (1300m).
She won a two-horse war with Eurosay ($6.50) in the straight.
Apprentice jockey Lewis German rode both to victory.
