RSL managed to get to 227 before being bowled out after eight overs on the second day at play at McPherson.
Resuming at 7-211, Tim Cameron made it to 23 before the Bulldogs lost their last three wickets for one run.
Despite Nick Grant snaring Harry Rosengren (five) early, it was never going to be enough with Wagga City taking just over 59 overs to complete the chase.
Captain Josh Thompson led from the front with 61.
Jon Nicoll then backed up his five-wicket haul from the first innings to guide the side home.
He finished unbeaten on 73 and also picked up Cameron and John Hoey (5) to finish with 5-58 off 23 overs.
Tom Burge made 43 while Ben Turner was the last man out for 42.
Wagga City remain in second place after South Wagga’s late rally and tackle Kooringal Colts when the season resumes on February 2.
