The sisters competed at the Australian Indigenous Schoolgirls Netball Competition (AISNC) in Melbourne, representing NSW Echidnas alongside fellow Wagga juniors Indiannah Johnson and Kyesha Miller.
Tamsyn’s under 14s side placed first in their division while Kaelani’s under 12s side placed second and while neither team could make it through finals, both sisters caught the selectors eye and were named in the Budgies under 14s and under 12s respectively.
Proud mum Bettina Goolagong said it was Tamsyn’s second selection in the Budgies squad and Kaelani’s first.
“This is a great achievement for (them) ... a pathway to competitive netball and an opportunity to display their love of the game,” Goolagong said.
The girls will next compete at the International Schoolgirls Netball Championship on the Gold Coast in April.
