Following inquiries, at about 9.50am on Wednesday police conducted a vehicle stop on MacLeay Street, Turvey Park, and arrested the man.
A short time later, police executed a search warrant at a home in Mount Austin and seized ammunition and items suspected to be stolen including a chainsaw, credit cards, and identification documents.
The man was refused bail and was due to appear in Wagga Local Court on Thursday.
Police said the arrest was part of Strike Force Cretney, established in July by the Wagga Region Enforcement Squad to investigate drug supply in the Wagga and Young areas.
Investigations under Strike Force Cretney were continuing.
