Princess Ollie overcame a sluggish start to take out the first heat of the Ladbrokes Info Hub 0-1 Wins (320m) series on Sunday.
Going on to win by almost five lengths, the San Isidore trainer is confident she has a bright future.
“I think she’s a Wagga Cup dog,” Oakman said.
“She’s strong but we've taken our time with her.”
The final is on Friday.
It was part of a double for the family.
Trained by his wife Sandra, We Gotta Million returned to winning ways for the first time in four months.
He proved far too strong, winning by four lengths in a slick time of 18.42 seconds.
Oakman believes he’s found an unusual key to success – having handler Arron Gould put him into the boxes.
“He seems to have a bit of a knack with the dog,” he said.
“He’s lead him out four times for two wins and two seconds.”
