The Wagga club have seen former coach Ben Jeffery, livewire Tristan Dickson and brothers Dylan and Tyson McLachlan move over the off-season with few gains.
Glenn Dumbrell has come on board as coach, and while president Terry Cronin admitted a lack of halves could be a problem he’s not too worried at this stage.
“We’re not pushing the panic button,” Cronin said.
“We’ll shuffle a few blokes around if we have to.”
Jeffery was originally headed to Albury before linking with Group 20 club DPC, Dickson has headed back for a second stint at Junee while the McLachlans have joined Brothers.
Cronin was hoping to secure a couple of signatures last week and is still working on bringing a centre and forward to the club.
However halves aren’t on their agenda with Cronin looking to elevate some internal talent.
“We’ll look to make one out of the squad we’ve got,” he said.
“There’s a couple of candidates from reserve grade or young blokes coming through.”
Pointscoring could be an issue in 2019.
Dickson was the competition’s second leading tryscorer with 19 last year while Jeffery was fourth with 14 and only behind Southcity’s Steven Tracey as overall highest pointscorer for the competition.
