Coming off a win at Goulburn on Thursday, Irish Swagger will start in the red box in the New Oceanic Takeaway Stakes (320m).
Talbot expects it will suit.
“It took us five months to get that dog right,” Talbot said.
“He had a few issues with his back, but it was good to see him on song.”
The Wagga trainer will take nine to the races, his biggest team to date.
He took seven to Goulburn on Thursday, with a win and three seconds, and has been enjoying his move to having a larger team.
His kennel has doubled in size in the past 12 months and he now has 15 in work.
He rates Zipping Olympia, Cane Toad Bolto and Irish Swagger as his better chances.
Zipping Olympia had been placed in her last three starts before failing to finish at Sandown in October.
First up from a break, Talbot has dropped her down to the 400 metres and expects a strong showing.
“Ideally she’s a 500 metre dog but we’ve brought her back after the three-month spell,” he said.
“She’s been trialling pretty well over the 400 and when the race came up we thought we would chase it.”
Cane Toad Bolto is stepping down in class after a fifth in the Leo Hartley Memorial last week.
She was sore in the shoulder after the run but has responded well to treatment.
Meanwhile Sno Bo will be looking to bring up his seventh win in his 100th start.
