Police have identified one victim from a tragic accident that left two dead in Temora on Sunday night.
Suliano Matavesi, 41, was the passenger in a Holden Commodore that burst into flames after colliding with a tree.
Detective Acting Inspector Phil Malligan said he was a Fijian national from Hay.
“At this stage the identity and the sex of the driver are unknown and until a post-mortem examination is conducted, no further details will be released,” he said.
“The 41-year-old man was from Hay and family, from both Australia and Fiji, have been informed as well as his employers.
“We believed they were returning to Hay from Sydney.”
Inspector Malligan said investigations are continuing.
On Sunday, emergency services rushed to the Burley Griffin Way near Bakers Road, about five kilometres east of the town, about 6.30pm.
