Coming off their first loss of the year, Wagga City captain Josh Thompson is looking for a better bowling performance.
He thought the Cats let the pressure off South Wagga too often in their return from the Christmas break, and it needs to be their focus taking on Wagga RSL at McPherson Oval on Saturday.
“We’ve got to try to bowl a lot better,” Thompson said.
“We’ve been putting the runs on the board, scoring 200 consistently, but what is letting us down is our bowling at the moment.
“We’re not bowling one side of the wicket and our fourth, fifth or sixth balls one of them is always a four-ball so we need to tighten up our bowling on that aspect and I think we will be alright.
“It is something to work on.”
Despite making 6-201 from their 40 overs, Thompson rated the Blues the best attack they’ve come up against.
He’s looking to respond as two-day cricket returns against a Wagga RSL outfit who have won just one match this season.
