The Tiger Army has won both of his two stars to date in impressive fashion.
He heads into the series as favourite for the $30,000 final on January 25.
The two-year-old feature has always been the aim with the son of Sportswriter.
“He’s such a nice little horse and is such a ready made two-year-old,” Crossland said. “He’s got the manners, settles and comes out of the gate good.
“I couldn’t be happier with him.”
Tiger Army has drawn barrier six in the first of the two heats.
He overcame the same draw to win at Kilmore last week and Crossland is hoping for a similar situation.
“I know nothing about any of the other ones but drawn there I guess you have to drive him like the best in the race and see what happens,” she said.
It is the first time Crossland will have a runner in the series however her partner David Moran drove Easter Jolt to victory in the race for Peter Manning in 2016.
She was surprised there are only 13 nominations for the race but would love to win it.
“It is one of those races where everyone remembers a Breeders Plate winner for years to come,” Crossland said.
“Whether they go on or not it is something that sticks in people’s minds.”
Crossland has also picked up the drive on The Handsome One for Yarroweyah trainer Darrell Dwyer.
He was sixth behind The Tiger Army on debut but is one of only two horses with race experience heading into the series.
Sportsbet have put up an all-in market for the final with The Tiger Army at $2.80 favourite.
Wayne Sullivan’s Gee Gee Blinx and David Eurell’s Jimmy Beach are on the next line of betting at $4.50.
Sullivan’s second runner Harry Corft is next best at $6.
