The Bureau of Meteorology has forecast another sweltering weekend for the Riverina with a severe heatwave warning and multiple days above 40 degrees starting on Friday.
Senior forecaster Jordan Notara said a high pressure system above the Tasman Sea would drag heated air across NSW this week.
“It will go into the forties as we approach Friday, Saturday and Sunday,” he said.
“At the end of the week it will be a return to severe heatwave conditions for the Wagga region.”
Wagga residents caught short by the last heatwave have taken to social media to find air conditioning units.
An air conditioning repairer, who asked not to be named, said he had been getting constant calls from regular clients and strangers alike.
The repairer said most faults were due to owners not getting units serviced.
