The display portrays a distinctly anti-Christian theme.

December 25 is the most important day in the Christian calendar and should not be ridiculed in such a manner.

Australia is a Christian country and the Wagga Base Hospital board should respect the beliefs of the majority of this country.

One display is a 2 metre by 1 metre placard saying “All I want for Christmas is for it to be over. Merry whatever.”

Another says “When is December 26?”

Then a board saying “Annoyance Ave, Grinchiness Boulevarde, Nautiness Lane.”

Yet another saying “Grinch Team” and “Merry Whatever”.

In the outpatients ward, there are no less than 20 cut-outs of the Grinch on the walls.

The Grinch is an ugly faced monster that dislikes Christmas - as I understand it.

It is hard to believe that the Board of Directors could lower its standards to such a level.

A lot of people wonder why some politicians seem to be devoid of common sense. I refer to the deportation of Angela Aseka a year or so back.

She came to Australia from Kenya on a student visa. And while living in Wagga, had a daughter who would now be about eight years old.

Ms Aseka had been living in Wagga for about 14 years.

She has never bludged on the government and has fully supported herself and her daughter.

Her pleas to the Immigration Department to be allowed to stay had fallen on deaf ears.

This is the part that I don’t understand.

On one hand, Ms Aseka apparently doesn’t measure up to the high standards set by our government to warrant citizenship.

While on the other hand, the government has cancelled the passports of at least 170 wannabe terrorists preventing them from leaving the country.  And it must be remembered that it is the government’s policy to not deport anyone back to their homeland even if there is only a remote possibility that they may face persecution or even death.

Therefore, why did the government send Ms Aseka back to an unstable and volatile Kenya?

The question that I would like to ask the Immigration Minister, David Coleman, is this: Could you explain to the public just what was behind your government’s logic in preventing terrorists from leaving the country while forcibly deporting a person with a young daughter, who has been described as a model citizen, and whose only transgression was to overstay her visa?  

There must be better cricket news stories available than continual referrals to the “sandpaper” incident, get over it, we have.

Could commentators please discuss what is happening on field rather than continual theories and irrelevant data? Never watched so much cricket in silence.
