About 5am Thursday, police and NSW Fire and Rescue Turvey Park were called to another vehicle set alight.
The vehicle, which was reportedly stolen, was located in the Silvalite Reserve at Ashmont.
“Police were on scene very quickly, so too were the Fire and Rescue so that car was put out,” Inspector Adrian Telfer said.
Detectives are now investigating the circumstances leading to the incident, including where and when the vehicle was stolen.
Police also attended a stolen-vehicle incident in Tatton on Wednesday night.
Inspector Telfer said they found the vehicle on Fernleigh Road, Ashmont.
“Thankfully we were able to seize that and it will be the subject of forensic examination today,” he said.
No arrests and charges have been made at this stage but Inspector Telfer said “we’re very pleased to get the vehicle back to the owner and the valuable evidence within that vehicle”.
Anyone with more information about the incidents are urged to contact Wagga Police Station 6922 2599 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
