Coolamon’s fruitful off-season continues with the Hoppers to host the comeback of former rising star Jeremiah Maslin next season.

Maslin has had more than four years out after a badly broken leg while playing for Wagga Tigers in 2014.
Having just moved home from Brisbane, the 22-year-old decided to follow Jake Barrett to Kindra Park (the former AFL star will become Maslin’s brother-in-law this weekend).
“We’re about 30k’s out of Coolamon and when I found out he was coming home and playing pretty close to home, I was pretty keen to get back into footy,” Maslin said.
“Once I had a chat to Coolamon, the coaches are really good, the club seems to be doing a lot of good things and it seemed like a good environment.”
Having emerged as a Tigers first grader in 2013, Maslin was injured at Ganmain in 2014 ending a promising season that had also included leading Mater Dei Catholic College to a Carroll Cup victory.
“I captained the side that year. It was when we beat Kildare in the final, which was good. It was a really good year until I got injured,” he said.
“I was trying to get up for the next season but I had a few setbacks and then I ended up moving to Brisbane. I didn’t get to playing up there but I’ve been living and breathing footy still, living with Jake.”
Maslin said his body’s feeling good and he’s excited about getting the ball back in hand at training.
“Hopefully it’s like riding a bike,” he said.
“I’ve only had a few run abouts and a few kicks but hopefully I’ll be able to get back into it and have something to offer.”
The former midfielder is set for change of role and is looking forward to getting the chance to play up forward when he makes his return.
The Hoppers will have a delayed start to the year with a club bye followed by the Easter bye. Their season will get underway in round two, with a massive game at home to Ganmain-Grong Grong-Matong.
“It’ll be a pretty big day to start the season. I haven’t played for Coolamon before so you’re not really familiar with the rivalries but the boys said it’s a good one. I can't wait to be a part of it,” Maslin said.
Coolamon have also brought former Temora ruckman Anthony Atkin on board as well as Shannon Charlie and five of his former Northern Jets teammates.
