Wagga High School students received their NSW government Premier’s Volunteering Awards on Wednesday morning.
Year 10 student Declan Rohrich completed more than 26 hours of volunteering in six months predominantly with soccer.
Leila Wadley, a Year 8 student, spent 13 hours of volunteering in three months in netball and athletics.
Two more Year 8 students Maisy Condon and Milly Lucas gave more than 13 hours in a few months with touch football.
Wagga MP Dr Joe McGirr presented the students with their certificates and encouraged them to maintain that same level of passion into the future.
“I truly believe that volunteering for our communities is one of the best ways to make them stronger,” Dr McGirr said.
“It’s so inspirational seeing young people, like Maisy, Milly, Declan and Leila, give up their time to help others.
“I want to say well done to each and every one for your dedication and your commitment to your sport and to the school.”
