CEO Belinda Crain said Sunday’s event was a ‘huge success’.
“People ate 600 sausages, 600 rissoles, 20 kilograms of onions, eight potato salads, 50 loaves and 1000 drinks,” she said.
“It was massive and we had representatives from every community that’s been settled.”
Ms Crain said the highlights for the years included the 30th anniversary celebration in June, Refugee Week and the start of the Refugee Peer Youth Mentoring Program.
“A lot of our communities are also now starting language communities,” she said.
“It shows the connectivity of the communities and it has been built over the years and it’s so nice to see them all coming together.
From Pakistan, India, Africa and more – they hung out and it’s amazing to see the children playing together.”
Ms Crain said staff are looking forward to another year of helping the communities in 2019.
