The $2 million development was determined by the Wagga City Council last week to establish a new sales premises for Land Rover and Jaguar and upgrade an existing workshop.
Thomas Bros. group principal dealer Daniel Martelozzo said there is high demand for prestigious cars in the region.
“There’s definitely a demand for Land Rover and Jaguar dealerships and we’ve been inundated with inquiry,” Mr Martelozzo said.
“At the moment we’re operating out of a temporary building and we’re hoping completion will be in June 2019, with construction aiming to begin in February or March.”
Mr Martelozzo said the development will match the car brands prestige and will be a stand-out to other car dealerships.
“The Jaguar and Land Rover centre will be state-of-the-art as most car dealerships are between 3.5 to 5.5 metres high, but this new construction will be eight metres,” he said.
“It will be quite imposing on Dobney Avenue and to other car dealerships.”
Mr Martelozzo said the continued investment in this business assists in supporting the viability of centres and responds to the needs of residents.
The development application notes that there is an existing Mitsubishi service centre with the workshop and car wash facility towards the rear of the block as well as the open display of Mitsubishi cars for sale.
The existing Mitsubishi showroom, which is located at the front of the block, will remain and the new site will form part of five separate lots under the Thomas Bros. group.
The new Ashmont showroom will be built to the front of the existing service centre following the part demolition of the outdated administration area and will have two display areas for the two new vehicle brands as well as offices, amenities and a lounge waiting area.
The modern designed building, which comprises of a new showroom, will project closer towards the road and pose as a more inviting frontage to visitors entering the site.
Mr Martelozzo said the new investment will be built by local builders to benefit the Wagga community.
